Top ten YouTube channels discussing the environment & climate change

There are large number of YouTube channels providing awesome information around climate change and how we can solve it. There are hours of great content to help you change your ways and improve the health of the planet.

10. TED & TEDx

While TED talks don’t only focus on environmental topics; they have many fantastic talks on the topic. In particular, talks by ex-Bhutanese Prime Minister, Tsheirng Tobgay are engaging and informative. Even at the TEDx talk, there are plenty of inspirational and powerful presentations about solutions for climate change.

9. EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency has a large catalogue of fantastic videos about protecting our environment. Ranging from how to conserve water to reducing waste and how to live green. There is plenty of information to glean from their productions.

8. UN Environment

This YouTube channel is run by the UN’s Environment Programme. The channel has a fantastic playlist of short videos showing possible solutions that could help combat climate change. These all give a great insight into how we all can help save out planet from the effects of climate change.

7. WWF International

WWF’s YouTube channel is a fantastic resource for videos about the Earth. Showing magnificent videos of the natural world is inspiring. We need to save world from climate change effects. 6. Exploring Alternatives

Again while not strictly a channel about being environmentally friendly. They have a lot of content that relates to solutions that can reduce impacts on the world. Topics like zero waste, minimalism, tiny living and living off grid. All these movements are great ways to reduce impacts on the earth. Mainly due to the fact that they require less resources. Exploring Alternatives are doing a great job at bringing these ideas to the masses to learn and understand.

5. Union of Concerned Scientists

The Union of Concerned Scientists’ channel had produced many short, digestible videos about scientific issues and solutions. In particular they have a great playlist of videos about global warming and climate change. These videos provide great overviews into the issues we are facing. As well as discussing solutions that are available to be implemented today. A great channel to help you get up to speed with how global warming is affecting our planet.

4. Urban Farmer Curtis Stone

While not strictly about climate change, Curtis Stone has a huge catalogue of videos about how to effectively run an urban farm. Running an urban farm or getting into permaculture is a great way to reduce your emissions. It greatly reduces the distance food needs to travel. It also makes you and your city more sustainable and less reliant on food coming from other areas. These are all great things; and Curtis’ videos can help achieve these situations.

3. Happen Films

This fantastic channel produces short form documentaries and videos about sustainability and permaculture. They have many interviews with real people who are showing how living sustainably is possible and can save the earth. 2. Our Changing Climate

Our Changing Climate is YouTube channel that focuses on investigating what is causing climate change and how we can stop it. In particular the in depth investigations into the environmentally friendliness of companies are worth watching. One great video is the investigation into Ecosia and whether it is legit or not. Luckily for us and the planet, it is.

1. Levi Hildebrand

Levi is a Canadian filmmaker whose videos mostly focus on ways to help save the environment without needing to be a hero. His message is that we don’t all need to be doing huge actions to save the planet. But that all our small actions together can make a huge impact in improving the world in which we live. His videos range from discussions on products that are environmentally friendly to how to transition to a zero waste lifestyle.
