DOTA 2 offlaners (sometimes called hardlaners), generally have the most difficult lanes in a game and play a large role in how a game plays out. They generally have to face up against the opposing carry and support, or even a trilane. However, if they do well, offlaners can have a huge impact on the match. 10. Samuel “Boxi” Svahn
He is currently playing for Alliance, who successfully qualified for The International with their recent performance. Boxi is most well-known playing heroes like Brewmaster, Beastmaster and Earth Shaker. He plays these team fighting heroes well, and has a large impact on his team’s performance.
9. Yang “Chalice” Shenyi
As one of the top offlaners to come out of China, Chalice is an important player for PSG.LGD. His performances on Dark Seer and Batrider are particularly strong. He has used this heroes to bring many victories to his squad.
8. Carlo “Kuku” Palad
Kuku, one of the best DOTA 2 offlaners hail from the Philippines currently plays for TNC Predator. His top heroes include Enigma and Magnus; using their huge team fight ultimate to swing matches in his team’s favour.
7. Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang
One of the most famous players in DOTA 2’s history is iceiceice. Hailing from Singapore and currently plays in the offlane for Fnatic. Well known for his flashy and risky plays on heroes like Timbersaw and Pangolier. TI9 will provide another opportunity for iceiceice to show his stuff.
6. Sébastien “ceb/7ckingmad” Debs
Coming from a coach to a TI winner within a year is great achievement by ceb. He will definitely looking to claim a second aegis with the OG squad. While their performance throughout the DPC season was lackluster, they still have the drive to go big at The International. ceb’s Magnus, Axe and Trent plays will likely feature heavily at the tournament this year.
5. 9pasha
As Virtus.pro’s offlaner, 9pasha plays heroes like Dark Seer, Magnus and Centaur to help his team claim victory. Hopefully this year he can make a large impact on his team to make a good run at The International. Something VP has historically struggled at doing.
4. MinD_ControL
Team Liquid’s offlaner is MinD_ControL, hailing from Bulgaria. In particular know for his scary plays on heroes like Nature’s Prophet and Dark Seer. I’m sure we will see these heroes magnificently controlled by MinD_ControL throughout the tournament.
3. Yang
Currently one of the best offlaners in the world, Yang is a important player for VG. His Dark Seer and Clockwerk plays are phenomenal, and will probably be shown in the upcoming tournament.
2. Gustav “s4” Magnusson
Another Swedish superstar, s4 is currently the offlaner for EG. With his incredible skills on heroes like Puck and Magnus; he will be attempting to add another aegis to his DOTA 2 achievements. His TI experience and being surrounded by the EG squad puts him with a good chance to be one of the first player to claim two aegises.
1. Ludwig “Zai” Wåhlberg
The Swedish superstar, zai, has played for many top teams like EG and Team Secret. With his impressive performances on heroes like Centaur and Enigma; zai is an integral component of Team Secret. Hopefully his skills can assist Team Secret in having a good run at The International 2019.
